"GOOD MORNING, Wonhee-ya."

Oh.

Wonhee was a bit surprised when she was greeted by Yejun’s handsome face.

[How can someone look good so early in the morning?]

But, as usual, Yejun was wearing those weird sunglasses again.

Wonhee couldn’t help but smile. "Tannie, did Yejun try to watch me sleep again?"

Suddenly, Yejun’s sunglasses disappeared.

And then Tannie materialized in the air, floating above Wonhee while complaining.

"That Devil’s spawn did not only try to watch you sleep– but he also tried to touch your hair!" Tannie tattled to Wonhee. "The System determined that Hwang Yejun’s intention for trying to touch your hair was pure, and you gave him permission to do so. Hence, he wasn’t punished by the rules of the <Sleeping Salon>. But I personally find it creepy, so I tied Hwang Yejun’s hands!"

Hmm?

Wonhee’s gaze landed on Yejun’s hands.

To her surprise, the X-Class Hunter’s hands were really cuffed. What seemed to be green vines were tied around Yejun’s wrists.

Her questioning gaze found the X-Class Hunter’s face.

"I just wanted to braid your hair," Yejun said, shrugging. "I watched tutorial videos yesterday, so I wanted to try it while waiting for you to wake up."

Oh, right.

After yesterday’s exhausting events, Wonhee canceled all her remaining schedules and went back home with Yejun.

And then they just slept in the <Sleeping Salon> after they had an early dinner.

Wonhee used the bed while Yejun slept on the couch.

"Thank you for protecting me, Tannie," Wonhee said while getting up, then she stretched her arms. "Thanks to you, I could always sleep without a worry."

Tannie grinned, looking proud of himself. "You can always count on me, Chu Wonhee."

But the tangerine fairy’s moment was interrupted when Yejun effortlessly freed himself from the vines around his wrists.

And that was just Yejun’s physical strength.

What a monster.

"Wonhee-ya, we had dinner early last night, so you might be hungry now," Yejun said, acting as if he didn’t just shock Tannie by freeing himself from the latter’s vines so easily. "Can I borrow your kitchen? I want to cook breakfast for you."

"Aww. That’s so sweet of you, Yejun-ah," Wonhee said, smiling. "Then can you make Caesar salad for me while I wash my face?"

"That’s easy to do. But would that be enough?"

"Yes, that would be enough. I want to maintain my figure since I have a photoshoot scheduled soon, along with filming a few CFs."

"Ah, you’re on a diet?"

"Yes."

"Gotcha."

Hmm.

Wonhee waited for Yejun to say more.

She was even expecting him to comment on her weight.

["You’re already too skinny, so why do you need to go on a diet?"]

That was what most people often said to her after hearing she was on a diet in the past.

["You need to eat more because you’re already too thin. Let’s have pork belly for dinner, then let’s just run together to burn off the calories."]

And that was what Seodam would tell her whenever he thought she was "starving" herself to lose weight.

That wasn’t true, of course.

Wonhee would eat everything she wanted during her inactive periods.

But, of course, she would take good care of her body if she had work to do. And she liked maintaining her figure. She hated feeling bloated because she felt like it wasn’t her body.

So, Yejun’s reaction was refreshing.

[It was the same as Ahyeon and Yool– they never comment on my body whether I lose or gain weight.]

"Thank you, Yejun-ah."

"It’s the least thing I could do while I’m freeloading off of you."

It wasn’t just about the breakfast, but she didn’t say anything anymore.

"Ah, right," Yejun said, then he pointed at her phone. "Your phone kept ringing before the battery got empty. I wanted to charge it for you, but the talking orange stopped me."

"Of course, I did!" Tannie said proudly. "You can’t touch Chu Wonhee’s things without her permission!"

Yejun just sighed and covered his ears with his hands.

"Thank you, Tannie," Wonhee said, then she grabbed her phone and charged it. "Let me just wash my face real quick."

[DONE.]

Wonhee made three appointments while having breakfast with Yejun.

One with Semi.

One with the CEO of her agency.

And one with Yool.

Wonhee scheduled those meetings while enjoying the salad that Yejun made for her.

On the other hand, the X-Class Hunter made kimchi rice and cooked some delicious-looking fried chicken.

[I’m actually tempted to ask for a piece...]

"Won’t the baby herbivore join us for breakfast?" Yejun asked. "I made enough for at least two more people."

[I can see that.]

"Ahyeonnie and Yool are currently living with Chef Ryung, and Chef Ryung cooks breakfast for them every day. I won’t let them miss the chance to eat food made by the country’s best chef," Wonhee explained. "Ahyeonnie will come here after he had his breakfast."

"Have you had a monster dish at the Nom Nom Restaurant yet?" Yejun asked curiously. "As far as I know, A-list Civilian-celebrities like you could go up to the 4th floor. The higher floor you are, the more delicious dishes they serve."

"Oh, I haven’t gone to that restaurant yet since I don’t like how they discriminate among their customers," she said. "But I’ve had some monster dish before since Ahyeonni would often share his packed lunch with us."

"You like them?"

"Yes. Chef Ryung is really the best chef out there."

"As soon as I get into a dungeon again, I’ll catch a dragon for you."

"Huh?"

"Dragon meat is very tasty."

Wonhee almost dropped her fork. "You’ve had dragon meat before? Isn’t like, like, a super delicacy among monster dishes? Since it’s rare, it’s also very expensive."

Yejun shrugged casually. "I can get it for you."

"But you’re currently inactive as a Hunter, so you’re not allowed to enter Cracks."

"..."

"Yejun-ah, are you saying you’ll enter Cracks illegally?"

"..."

Wonhee was reminded of a phrase that she would often hear from other people.

["APA is above the law, and the Big 4 is above APA itself."]

"Yejun-ah, you’ll sleep outside the <Sleeping Salon> if you enter a Crack illegally."

"..."

"Yah. Why aren’t you answering?"

Yejun shrugged. "It’s easier to ask forgiveness than to ask for permission?"

"Hwang Yejun."

"Did you use my ability well yesterday, Wonhee-ya?"

[Look at this law-breaker changing the subject...]

It was effective, though.

"Did you already know in advance that I’d acquire a new skill?"

"The System informed me first, since it needed my approval."

"For borrowing your abilities?"

"Yep."

Right.

She didn’t get to finish reading the description for her new skill.

Wonhee stared blankly into the air. "Status Window, please show me the details of the new skill that I acquired."

Fortunately, it listened.

Her Status Window popped up in front of her.

"There are four slots," Wonhee said. "Are those slots referring to Hunters whom I can borrow skills from?"

Suddenly, the Status Window disappeared.

It was replaced by Tannie who was suspended in the air, right in front of Wonhee.

"That’s right, Chu Wonhee!" Tannie said excitedly. "Since your Mana Tank is still small, you can only accommodate four S-Class Hunters!"

"Mana Tank is where the Mana I get from Yejun is stored, right?"

"Correct!" Tannie confirmed. "Hunters have Cores, the source of their Mana, located in their hearts. On the other hand, Guides have their Mana Tanks implanted in their hearts!"

"I see," she said, nodding. "Aside from Yejun, are the other slots available to any Hunters?"

Tannie shook his head (entire body, actually) firmly. "You can only borrow the power of Hunters signed in the Guestbook for now! Your Mana Tank can’t handle "random" Hunters yet!"

Oh.

[So, it’s bound to change once I level up.]

"How do I unlock the <What’s Mine Is Yours> skill?" Wonhee asked curiously. "It says it needs my approval."

"You just need to sign next to Hwang Yejun’s name in the Guestbook!" Tannie explained. "Once your <What’s Mine Is Yours> skill is activated, the Hunters with your approval will gain the right to use an <Emergency Guiding> once a day."

"Emergency Guiding?" Wonhee asked curiously. "The ’Emergency Guiding’ I learned from the Center is when a Hunter and a Guide with a low matching rate are forced to pair up during an emergency. Apparently, it happens more often than not because there are more Hunters than Guides in our country."

Tannie once again shook his head (body?). "The <Emergency Guiding> we’re talking about here doesn’t require any physical touch! Once the Hunter uses their <Emergency Guiding Ticket>, then they will be filled with Chu Wonhee’s energy wherever they are!"

"Are you crazy?" Yejun complained. "That would drain Wonhee’s energy right away."

Tannie visibly shook, obviously affected by Yejun’s irritation. "T-That’s the price Chu Wonhee has to pay for borrowing your ability..."

"I don’t need it then," Yejun said, then he turned to Wonhee. "Don’t sign it for me."

"I’ll sign it, though?"

"Chu Wonhee."

"Hwang Yejun," Wonhee said, calling him by his full name after he did the same. "It’s only fair that I give you what I have after you give me what you have. Don’t look down on me."

Yejun looked at Wonhee as if he sizing her up, then he sighed. "I would gladly give you anything and everything I have without asking for anything in return."

Okay, she almost drank kimchi soup again.

[Why does he keep on saying and doing things that I might misunderstand?]

Perhaps it was time to address the elephant in the room?

"Why would you do that, Hwang Yejun?" Wonhee asked in a serious voice. "Is it because the more you shower me with love and affection, the bigger the reward you get from the System?"

Yejun dropped the chicken drumstick, obviously shocked. "What...?"
