Chapter 181: The Skeletons
Two days later. Criminal Investigation Department
Sam walked in the Criminal Investigation Department’s Building, making her way towards Davies’ office, exchanging pleasantries to some familiar faces as she did so. Soon she reached the Detective Inspector’s office, the door was closed, and she knocked.
"Come in." she heard the man said, and she pushed the door open, revealing the man sat behind his desk with a cup of steaming coffee.
Davies shot her a quizzical look; why the redhead was there, he had no clue. Sam smiled at him; she could tell just by the expression on his face that he was slightly confused to see her there. "I brought you the DNA result; it’s positive. Congratulations", she said, genuinely happy for him.
Davies’ eyes glinted, and a smile crept on his lips; he was delighted, another Case closed. Justice will be served.
"Thanks, but you could have just called or texted me, Dr. Gray. There was no need to come all the way here, knowing just how busy you are", he said, causing Sam to smile, "I know, but I need a favor." she said, direct to business.
Davies brows rose in intrigue. "Okay---?" was his only response.
...
A Day later. 7 Eastbourne Rd.
"Did you hear?" Marco asked that Sunday morning the second he walked in the Irishman’s flat. Levi, who was performing another one of his experiments in the kitchen, arched a brow in response. "Good afternoon to you, Marco," he replied when the bearded man entered his kitchen. Clueless as to what his best friend was on about.
Marco scanned the slicked blond, his sleeves folded up to his elbow, an apron over his clothes. Safety goggles over his eyes, and a pair of latex gloves on his hands. Based on the relaxed expression on his face, Marco knew he wasn’t aware.
He sighed; why does he always have to be the bearer of bad news? He wondered. Did he kill some important person in his past life? "She’s gone, Levi." the bearded man said.
