Chapter 157: Prometheus Ball IV
Escape Room, Annecy France
Sam looked at the watch in her hand, "30minutes" she informed him. They only have 15 minutes remaining to get out of there, and the tension showed in both their faces as they stared at the image. There was nothing there; it was just some kind of creative art combining a variety, or composite, of different styles. It was leaning more on an abstract, with odd shapes, and colours with no actual logic or explanation behind. Levi hated it, it didn’t make sense---there was nothing to deduce there, at least he can’t see what they were supposed to discover, but he knew they had to figure it out. He hated losing after all.
"Fragments", Sam muttered to herself.
"Aaah!" Sam exclaimed out of the blue, "do you see it!?" She asked. Levi looked at her, confused, "What?" "The fragments! It’s just like Michael Scott’s case. It’s a cut out--made to become unrecognizable or abstract." she said.
Levi narrowed his eyes, trying to make sense of the illogical design "What am I looking for exactly?" he asked, "Eliminate all the primary colours." she said, and slowly his eyes dawned in realization. He can now see what she saw, in his mind, each shape and pieces shifted around to create a logical pattern, like a sliding puzzle he could see: the image forming numbers.
He broke into a broad smile and punched the number in the vault, causing it to pop open. Levi pulled it entirely, and he went down the tiny stairs first, assisting her as she went down the stairs barefoot.
"The cypher was my favourite part," she said, walking down after him. "You have to explain that." He said. "Oh, it’s called Infinitum Cipher, it’s a combination of cyphers the possibilities are pretty much endless," she said.
"28minutes--not half bad," Levi said, walking through the tunnel, offering his hand to her since she had one hand holding the end of her dress. She placed her arm in his knowing the possibility of her tripping and making a fool of herself.
The two walked and reached the end of the tunnel, holding hands--receiving applause from everyone.
"28mins 53seconds. Impressive Dr. Gray & Mr. Jackson." Prof. Morris complimented. "So far, only 13% of the teams made it; and you two are on top of the leaderboard." The Professor added gesturing to the Digital Leaderboard.
