100 Ways to Solve a Murder

Chapter 89: The Calm Before the Storm

7 months ago, Guys Hospital

Levi waltzed in Guy’s hallways, heading directly towards the morgue with Marco beside him.

Davies had given them a call a few hours previously about a case.

Davies stood waiting for them just outside the morgue door, hands in his pockets. The older man had an odd expression on his face, something the two both missed.

After exchanging a short greeting, the three walked in the morgue, the double doors swinging behind them.

Inside Janet stood waiting patiently, chart in hand. Levi scanned the room searching for the ginger,

"Dr. Gray?" he asked.

Janet tenses at the mention of the name, "Dr. Gray is busy at the moment." she answered, pressing her lips together.

The two tall men shot her a look. Sam was never really that busy to assist Levi in any of his cases. It’s one of the things everyone has noticed, if she was needed by him, she would be there. They all knew he received special treatment from the Director.

Davies looked anywhere but Janet, he knew what ’busy’ meant.

"She’s..." Janet started, lost for words. How was she to explain it to them?

"She’s not in a great mood." Davies blurted out. He spoke with the woman just minutes ago, and the boy Sam was in a foul mood.
