While the Chavarians were slaughtering the orcs, Alden, second in command to Bardornus, was thinking over the instructions that he was given before going to take part in the ambush as he stared at the black-feathered arrow that was stuck into his shield, which was blue with a white lion emblazoned on it which was the coat of arms of the Plurian royal family before removing the arrow and throwing it onto the floor.
