Chapter 76: (Valid) Crash out

I knew that Sloan hadn’t been joking when he said that and that made me shiver as a lick of fright went down my spine. He grabbed my hand and began to drag me down the hallway in his father’s wing. A few maids who were walking past, instantly gasped with fear as soon as they noticed Slpsn, but Sloan was unfazed as usual as he kept stalking forward. He didn’t stop walking for a moment till we arrived before a particular spot where about thirty guards were gathered together.
They were all laughing and drinking, but as soon as we were spotted, they all grew frozen from fear. Some of them even fell on their ass from fright.
"Stand up, everyone!" Sloan thundered and they all scrambled to do as told. I instantly recognized some of the guards that grabbed me this afternoon when I had been heading over to Sloan’s.
"We left him alone as soon as you showed us the crest, my prince." One of the guards cried out as he fell on his knees, his hands clasped before his chest. The rest of the guards all fell to their knees as well as they all repeated the same thing.
Sloan didn’t react, he just scoffed before pointing at them all,
"Who’d the one that carried him to the king after he showed you all the crest I gave him?" He thundered and they all shook from fear before slowly, they all pointed out the one that was guilty. I recognized him immediately when he carried me over his shoulders like I committed some sort of crime, despite me screaming and begging.
When he reluctantly got to his feet, he had a weary look on his face as he looked around for a moment.
"Bunch of pussies, you really sold me out, huh?" The guard snapped at the rest of the guards who were still kneeling.
"We asked you to leave him, didn’t we? But you called us pussies and carried him the rest of the way by yourself. You should carry your cross yourself." One of the guards still kneeling snapped out, and the guard standing let out a sigh before turning to face Sloan and I.
