Chapter 54: Flustered Baby

The Prince’s nose ghosted across the curve of my throat as he laid beside me on the bed. I was shuddering every now and then because what he was doing felt so hot and cold at the same time. The tip of his nose was cold but his breath was so hot, and in no time, I felt myself growing drowsy.
I was still without a shirt, but I was not cold, not when I was currently flushed against the Prince in his large bed. His hand was loosely around my waist and I was very conscious about that arm because it was making me feel all fluttery on the inside. It didn’t feel this way whenever I was around Damien, or when Zade and Vlad touched me. Those times felt so wrong, but this time felt so right and so perfect.
The Prince’s eyes were opened when I blinked my eyes open and a shiver rolled down my spine. He was just so breathtaking and so beautiful. Again, I found it hard to comprehend what this prince saw in me. It was almost laughable. I wasn’t strong, I wasn’t anything special, so... why?
He had said that I was his.
That word had flipped around in my stomach countless times after he said it, but it was yet to fully settle within me because I still found it hard to believe. He told me he wouldn’t hurt me, that he’d protect me. I do believe him, but it doesn’t mean I was magically no longer afraid of him... because I still am.
There’s a lot of questions I’d like to ask him, but I try to be very careful around him so I don’t anger him unknowingly.
When his eyes panned towards my lips, my cheeks grew warm and I bent my head a little before forcing my eyes to fall close, and at the same time, my heart was racing so fast, it felt like it would burst from my ribs.
I wasn’t sure of the exact moment, but I ended up falling asleep.
When I blinked my eyes open this time, I was alone in the bed, but the lights were still turned on. I slowly sat up, the sheets falling off the upper part of my body.
