Chapter 43: New Fate

To avoid coming off as suspicious, I didn’t try to change the seniors’ mind again. I felt numb as I returned back to the party, while my mind reeled hard. I kept waiting for happiness and relief to consume me but I got nothing.
My mind returned back to the last two days whereby I had been trapped in the Prince’s room. It had almost felt like a dream, all that went down there still felt unbelievable. I was still too embarrassed to fully think about how wanton I got when arousal hit me from nowhere, and that’s why I was still yet to tell anyone.
He could have chosen to take advantage of me during that period. He didn’t even need to wait for that period, just me being alone with him in his room was enough opportunity for him to grab me and do whatever he wanted with me. But nothing like that happened, and I guess now... I was a little bit curious, more curious than I’d like to admit, so I want to see him again.
I was admitting it now that I’d like to see him again even though I was still afraid of him.
When I returned back to the party and revealed the latest update to Jake and Theo and Bella, they were all relieved of my hehelf.
"Thank fuck! At least you’d finally not be tasked with serving a monster!" Theo muttered and I forced a chuckle as they all cheered around me and congratulated me.
When Jake and I were returning back to our room, the world spun around me because I later gave into pressure and dtank the content of the red cup. Now, I was clinging onto Jake’s arm as he led the way down the narrow hallway.
"You’re such an adorable drunk, and you barely consumed any alcohol." Jake drawled around a chuckle and I tried to argue but ended up hiccuping. Jake laughed and patted my head and I shoved his hand off while glaring at him, or at least that’s what I’m hoping that I was doing after stopping a few moments ago.
"You don’t seem as happy as I expected by the news of you not being assigned to serve the prince again." He pointed out quietly and I huffed as I let out a shrug.
