Chapter 113: My Wolf, My Will
Kieran’s POV
The abyss was quiet.
It was the kind of quiet that didn’t comfort, but unsettled, a silence that hummed beneath the skin like the lull before a slaughter.
"You will not mark her, you must not" my wolf said, voice low but absolute. "If you want the Total Lycan Ascension, Kieran, you must vow it now. You must relinquish her."
I didn’t respond at first. I just watched him. My wolf. The beast that was supposed to be a reflection of me, daring to command me, giving me terms on what I should or shouldn’t do.
Lorraine.
Her name tasted different now. Like something sacred.
She had called for me. She still calls for me. I can still here the echo of her voice in this prison void telling me to wake up, to take back the control of my body and come back to her.
I still remember the moment I watched helplessly when my wolf wanted to forcefully take her.
The moment her wolf rose.
Her wolf, silent for years, had awoken in that single terrifying moment. And in that second, something happened. My wolf faltered. His grip on me wavered. He spoke a language I didn’t recognize, something ancient.
Something had terrified him. And for some reason, he now wants me to never mark the one he knows is my mate.
