No Money to Cultivate Immortality?

Chapter 256: Showdown With Director Wang

Outside the battlefield, Chi He stood shoulder-to-shoulder with the newly arrived employees of the Oasis Corporation.

He also noticed that the outer edge of the entire battlefield was now being surrounded by more and more Oasis Corporation staff.

Chi He thought to himself, “Zhang Yu has no way out now. But still…”

He glanced into the battlefield, where Zhang Yu was being completely overpowered by Wang Yin, barely able to fight back. Chi He murmured inwardly, “With Director Wang stepping in personally, he never had a chance to begin with.”

Just then, one of the company staff nearby couldn’t help but ask eagerly, “President Chi, aren’t we going to assist Director Wang?”

Chi He shot him a cold glance and snorted, “With your level of skill, going up there would just be handing Zhang Yu a free kill.”

“Besides, Director Wang is currently filming a video introducing Zhang Yu as a ‘product.’ Without his permission… who’d dare interrupt?”

Boom!

Another punch from Wang Yin blasted a crater into the ground. Blood mist erupted from Zhang Yu’s body.

But Zhang Yu tore through the blood fog like nothing had happened and rocketed toward Wang Yin again.

Seeing Zhang Yu still bursting with energy after taking dozens of punches imbued with flowing spiritual force, Wang Yin raised an eyebrow in surprise.

“He still has this much vitality after all that?”

The next moment, a grin spread across Wang Yin’s face. “Good! Excellent!”

“The better you perform in this recording, the higher your bidding price.”

Meanwhile, inside Zhang Yu’s battered body, blood and qi surged, mana churned violently. He constantly activated protective Techniques, pushing Formless Cloud Qi to its peak just to resist the explosive spiritual backlash.

Even so, he could feel the damage accumulating inside him with every blow—muscles tearing, bones cracking.

Only the self-healing effects of the Martial Saint Embryo kept those micro-injuries from breaking him completely, allowing him to remain on his feet.

Still, Zhang Yu knew he couldn’t keep this up forever.

“This bastard monopolized over 70% of the surrounding mana. My Qi Sea Spirit Root can’t recover enough mana to sustain Formless Cloud Qi.”

“If I keep dragging this out, I’ll be whittled down to death…”

He furrowed his brow. That was clearly Wang Yin’s plan: wear him down alive.

“Trying to capture me in one piece, huh?”

“I wonder how much support Deng Bingding actually managed to send.”

“I’ll hold on a little longer… If it really comes to it, I’ll have to use that move…”

Zhang Yu raised his arms to protect his head and once again charged forward through a long-range punch from Wang Yin.

Time and time again, he advanced—only to be sent flying once more. His body was already a bloody mess.

The battlefield was a shattered ruin. The abandoned factory had been plowed into rubble; not a single wall remained intact, only craters everywhere.

Wang Yin sensed Zhang Yu’s movements slowing. “Almost over,” he thought.

But the heavier the pressure Wang Yin exerted, the more unrelenting Zhang Yu’s will became. With the Sacrificial Oxheart Technique in full swing, his eyes burned even brighter with fighting spirit.

In his mind, the white ox he visualized roared continuously. Its broken horn gleamed coldly; its snow-white back was streaked with red, like it might start bleeding at any moment.

Confronting such an opponent, Zhang Yu, pushed to his limits, drove the Sacrificial Oxheart Technique to heights it had never reached before.

Feeling the last reserves of his strength and mana, Zhang Yu gritted his teeth. “No perfect opening… but I’ve got no choice.”

He began to channel the military-grade Technique—Nine Heavens Cloudstride Force.

Just then, the air suddenly crackled and popped. A bolt of lightning streaked through the sky, a flash of silver darting toward Wang Yin’s back like a thunderbolt tearing through the night.

Zhang Yu’s eyes widened. “Ah-Zhen!”

White Zhenzhen’s injuries had healed completely. She now held the Magnetic-Oscillating Sword in her hands, her whole being ablaze with fighting intent as she lunged for Wang Yin’s skull.

This sword had just arrived from Deng Bingding after White Zhenzhen left the hospital—and she took it without hesitation.

Infused with Thunder Mana, the Magnetic-Oscillating Sword zipped forward like a streak of light. Its blade vibrated tens of thousands of times per second, rending the air with sonic booms.

But the tip of the sword crashed into the Netherblood Phantom Veil—layer after layer of blood shadows stopped it cold, only 12 inches from Wang Yin.

Zhenzhen’s eyes sharpened. She instantly withdrew and retreated.

Wang Yin countered with a blast of explosive palm force, laughing. “So you’ve come at last. Now I’ll deal with both of you together.”

He launched another punch, this one locked onto Zhenzhen with his Ultimate Martial Intent.

“Ah-Zhen!”

Zhang Yu leapt in front of her. Formless Cloud Qi surged wildly to block Wang Yin’s blow.

“We’ll break him in fifteen moves!” Zhenzhen shouted.

Zhang Yu’s heart stirred. He knew her Infinite Sword Meditation gained momentum with each strike—the fifteenth would pierce the sound barrier.

“She’s planning to create an opening for me with that final sword?”

Zhang Yu nodded. The two charged toward Wang Yin together.

Zhenzhen’s sword moves flowed seamlessly—each faster than the last. She had no defense, focused entirely on maintaining momentum.

Luckily, Zhang Yu was there, shielding her from each blast of explosive spiritual backlash.

In a flash of lightning, she reached the fifteenth move. Thunder Mana from the field amplified her sword’s acceleration.

She shot forward—lightning exploded from her frame, sword ripping through the air with all her mana channeled into it.

Only after her blade plunged into the Netherblood Phantom Veil did the sonic boom finally catch up.

That strike had broken the sound barrier.

Watching the sword carve through blood shadows, Zhenzhen’s eyes lit up.

“As expected, the shadows take time to respond to directional shifts.”

“The faster the attack, the less time the shadows have to react. If I can strike fast enough, I might actually break through…”

Yet she could still feel—even at this speed, it wasn’t enough.

But she’d come prepared. A warning echoed in her memory.

“That Flood Dragon Spinal Core was designed for Foundation Establishment cultivators.”

“With your peak Qi Refinement strength, you can only use it three times.”

“Each use will damage your meridians and strain your muscles.”

“Go beyond that, and your body will start breaking down. Even ten million won’t be enough to heal you—and the Wanquan Health Insurance policy for this mission only covers three million.”

Zhenzhen’s spine shuddered. The Flood Dragon Spinal Core embedded in her body activated, gathering strength from her body’s major tendons, pushing her physical power beyond her limits.

Screech!

The sword surged forward, narrowing the distance to Wang Yin’s forehead to just eight inches.

Wang Yin sneered, “A mere Qi Refinement cultivator thinks they can…”

But then White Zhenzhen let out a deafening roar. A terrifying pressure burst from her body.

Back in the operating room, the bearded doctor had explained, “The Flood Dragon Spinal Core seals a draconic Dao Technique—the Dragon Might Technique.”

“Once activated, it suppresses all mental activity within a hundred meters. Any cultivator with a Dao Heart under level 20 will be unable to circulate their Techniques…”

The Dragon Might Technique struck Wang Yin squarely. His vision blurred, his consciousness blinked, and his inner Technique faltered. His Ultimate Martial Intent collapsed. He could no longer dominate the surrounding mana.

“Damn it!”

He clutched his spinning head, but kept calm. He knew: Qi Refinement cultivators could never truly pierce the Blood-Shadow Barrier.

But White Zhenzhen knew that too.

Which is why, in the next instant, Zhang Yu appeared behind her—Martial Qi roaring.

Nine Heavens Cloudstride Force!

A military-grade Technique, purely for combat. It opened an internal node within one’s Martial Qi to store power for explosive release.

Each level opened one node. At level 5, Zhang Yu could store five bursts of power.

He had done just that—all throughout the fight, he’d hidden these five full-strength strikes in his Formless Cloud Qi.

Now he released them.

He slammed his palm into the sword hilt—Martial Qi erupted with the roars of dragons and elephants.

Five stored strikes + one full-power strike = sixfold devastation.

A thunderous shockwave exploded, air warped, debris blasted outward.

The sword and the two of them drove Wang Yin and his shield back like an earth-dragon in a dust storm.

Magnetic-Oscillating Sword screamed forward, blood shadows peeling away. Only half an inch from Wang Yin’s forehead now.

Roar!

White Zhenzhen gave another push—Flood Dragon Spinal Core burning her muscles as she poured all her strength into the sword.

Zhang Yu gritted his teeth, grabbed the hilt, twisted his body, and with the overload state of Endless Spring and Autumn Meditation, shoved the sword toward Wang Yin’s skull.

Wang Yin, eyes blazing with fury and disbelief, shouted, “You dare?!”

“You taught us: to stand above others, you have to eat them!” Zhenzhen roared back.

Screech!

The sword touched his forehead.

Zhang Yu bellowed, “Then let’s eat the fattest one!”

“Today, we’re eating you!”

“This is Kunxu, baby!”

With a primal roar, the Sacrificial Oxheart Technique reached its ultimate peak.

In Zhang Yu’s mind, the sacrificial ox reared back and howled, blood streaming from its wounds, forming words.

Boom!

The sword collided with Wang Yin’s forehead—

And shattered.

Wang Yin stared them down and growled, “This skin and Law Husk of mine were ripped off a Foundation Establishment cultivator with physical strength level 20.”

“You think just breaking through the Blood-Shadow Barrier is enough to hurt me?”

“Who can hurt me through this layer?! Who dares to eat me?!”
