Spell Weaver [Book 2 Complete]

182. Game Plan

“What is it?” Alex asked, genuinely curious about his excitement.

“Here, look.” Scout handed him back his spatial ring, turning to breathe heavily after he did.

Alex accepted the ring and frowned as he attempted to push his consciousness into it. “I can’t really tell.”

“You’ve gotten too used to the Realm Walker’s Storage Bracer,” Warrior said.

Alex gave him a look. “Here, you try. If you can’t tell, then you have to unload it and make sure we got everything.”

Warrior groaned, knowing he’d already lost. “I’m not doing that. We already know he got everything; you just have to check your memories.”

Waving his hand, Alex took the ring back and did just that. He checked his memories and sifted through Scout’s time in the trading district of their local Safe Zone. There was a moment that drew his attention, mainly from the emotions tied to it.

There was a lot of humor tied up in those emotions.

Alex rolled his eyes. Now that he knew what to look for, it was easy to call it from the ring with a thought.

A staff, almost as tall as he was, appeared in his hand. It was well-worn, and there were several runes along its length. He knew immediately that Scout had thought it was funny to continue building on the image of a wizard. Already stuck with the hat because of its usefulness, the staff could be the second of the four key pieces of being a wizard.

“Now you’re just missing the beard!” Warrior laughed.

“Don’t forget the tower!” Scout cheered.

“You know we can’t grow a beard,” Mage said solemnly.

“Would you guys knock it off,” Alex said. “It’s exhausting.”

“Aw, come on. We don’t mean anything by it. It’s just too fun when you know all the right buttons to press.”

Ignoring them, he scanned the item with his eye, interested to see what the System gave him on the item.
