Chapter 192: You keep looking away, Jo-Pil
We got to the gazebo and there, he placed me down to sit on one of the chairs. I actually thought he couldn’t put me down and keep carrying me, giving one excuse or the other but he actually put me down.
Should I interpret this as him not being desperate to move a step further or was he being cautious for a reason?
’I might just be the one reading a lot of meaning into his actions.’ I thought. ’We haven’t even had our first kiss so while he might be tempted to go a step further with me, he’s cautious because of the boundaries I set.’
In other words, I had to be the one to cross that line if I wanted to go further with him.
"Hm," I twisted my lips in contemplation. Let’s not go that far, okay?
There must be a reason why he’s so very cautious despite getting so many signs from me.
He probably doesn’t trust himself when it comes to handling me.
So, let’s not push it.
Jin-Yeok watched me as I battled with my thoughts, his lips curled up and he smirked. He looked like he was enjoying the sight and regarded my effort as cute.
"What’s on your mind, Jo-Pil?" He asked, and I turned to him. "Is there something I can help you with? You seem troubled."
"Well, not exactly." I said to him, my eyes trailing lightly over him and then back to the ground. For some reason, I couldn’t maintain eye contact and felt a bit awkward.
