Chapter 1122 - 1118: PARENTS EXPECTATIONS & WORRY
Meanwhile, at the Jeong’s residence, Madam Lim was having tea with her husband Jeong Chang-Su. He returned to the residence just shortly after Young-Jae and Diamond left.
It was quite a pity but there was what people call fate. When it was time to meet, they will always meet without any hurry.
It’s been hours since their son left and the driver returned to the residence without Young-Jae, and faithfully revealed everything that happened in the car to Jin-an who then shared it all to Madam Lim. And right now, wearing a complicated smile, Madam Lim was sharing the events with her husband without mixing words.
Her relationship with her husband was very close, and when it comes to their children, she always shares everything truthfully. That way, if there are any problems, they can find ways to minimize the problem or erase it completely without watching their children descending into madness.
Moreover, by sharing everything about the children, if anything happens, she wouldn’t have to worry when talking to her husband lest she gets accused of concealing something.
Besides, they were their children. What was wrong with talking about them?
And yet, on this night, she couldn’t help but feel complicated as she shared what transpired between Young-Jae and Diamond.
After Chang-Su listened to his wife, he couldn’t help but let out a sigh as the wrinkles around his eyes deepened.
He was a man in his seventies and yet he still looked vigorous despite the signs of aging.
At his age, he had seen quite a lot to be honest. He had experienced much and some of the things weren’t as baffling as they used to be in the days when he first learnt of them.
When Madam Lim saw her husband reacting like that, she couldn’t help but feel anxious.
"Dear, what are your thoughts? Are we just going to let this go like that?" she asked worriedly, her voice laced with anxiety.
Chang-Su lowered his hands and propped his elbows on the desk as he looked at his wife.
He married her when she was just in her late teen and by the age of twenty-one, she already has their first-born daughter. They have been together for nearly five decades. It wasn’t always easy but they managed to go through it all without breaking the bond.
He understands the love that she has for him and the children. As parents, they all wish the best for their children and don’t want to impose their beliefs on them. That’s why, when it comes to marriages and relationships, they barely forced their children into arranged marriages.
It was cruel to force their children to spend the rest of their lives with people they can’t stand. They hoped that their children can be with partners that can make them smile and give them the urge to return home daily after work.
That was why when their second son fell in love with that foreigner, they didn’t intervene and just let it flow. In the end, they got married and were happily married, and living their life together without any mess.
With all children married, one way or the other, the only one who was worrisome was Young-Jae. His occupation was pretty tricky and he couldn’t even date openly. With all children married and with children, as a father, he hoped to see his youngest married and with children.
Even without getting married, at least, let him bring back a child. It didn’t matter if the child was born out of wedlock. A child is a child as long as it belongs to their lineage. Even if Young-Jae doesn’t marry after bringing them a child, he wouldn’t be worried.
If he were to wait patiently until he feels that it was time for him to marry, he would be probably be in his eighties by then. Who would be certain that he would have many years to live?
Death was certain and he wasn’t an immortal. He prefers to see his grandchildren whilst he is still alive and have some time to play around with them before he couldn’t.
So, when he heard his wife recounting what happened between their son and that mysterious young lady, he felt all sorts of emotions but once he finally calmed down, he couldn’t help but look at his wife and asked one simple question, "don’t you trust Young-Jae?"
This son has never disappointed them to be honest. He always knows what he is doing. Except getting cursed, which was something that couldn’t be avoided or foreseen, he has always been shining brightly like the morning star.
When has he ever disappointed them?
Madam Lim sighed upon hearing that. She looked at her husband and opened her mouth but words failed her. She closed it again before opening it, but then she closed it.
She took several deep breaths as she formulates her words before finally opening her mouth to say, "Dear, he has never done anything that makes me feel that way. I am just worried. This is so sudden and from what I have heard, and partially seen earlier, this must be deep. Are you not worried that our son might get hurt in the process? Mind you, this young lady as much as I like her, she is also someone who is mysterious and powerful. Are we certain that he won’t be hurt? Moreover, don’t forget what I just told you. She is into polyandry. Our son will become one of her men and not the sole partner. Are you sure that you can actually smile when looking at her knowing that our son is .....?" she couldn’t finish her words as she closed her mouth, her chest heaving up and down.
She didn’t look down on any sexual orientations. People were free to love whoever they want, but this was a bit too serious.
She had thoughts of letting their families get close. Become friends and something like that. But she didn’t expect that her son had become enchanted with Diamond and the two of them would even get intimate in such a short time.
