Richard loved beautiful things. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have been attracted to Diamond in the first place. This handsome young man stopped by his place to drop some cookies though Richard had an inkling that he did it purposely.
It could be said that as long as Richard was at the mansion, the young man would use several tricks to see him whether coincidentally or running errands.
Diamond listening to Richard couldn’t help but chuckle finding their way of communicating very cute.
"So, what do you think about him?" however, she was most interested in how her friend was seeing all that.
"Ah," he sighed as he wiped his face with his hands. "I don’t know to be honest. He is all handsome, attentive and all that."
"But...." Diamond added for him as she looked at him eager to hear his excuses.
Richard sighed once again as he looked out of the window.
"I am afraid, Diamond. He is just visiting. What will happen when he leaves? What if his family doesn’t know? What if he just wants to test the waters?" Richard sounded vulnerable as he said that while looking at her.
Diamond sighed understanding Richard’s fear. He held his hands in hers comfortingly and started responding, "Dear, I understand that you are afraid and that anything can happen but without giving it a try, how can we know what the future holds?"
"But .... I don’t want to be hurt, Diamond. I am already this old. If I am with someone, I want to date long-term, you know. Date and marry. We can adopt or surrogate children. I just want to settle down with someone and not waste my time dating people who will end up with others in the future."
Diamond smiled faintly when she heard that. She agreed with Richard’s words.
