Chapter 1
"How pitiful!" a female voice lamented, her voice laced with worry and pity.
In front of a young woman, a dead bird lay on the ground. And just looking at it, she could tell that it had been dead for a while now.
"To just die like this and have no one know about this. I feel sorry for you. Since I have seen you, I will perform a kind act and send you off peacefully!" the girl said woefully as she picked the dead bird with her hands.
Diamond never thought that the mountain climbing she did on a whim after receiving a short vacation from work would result in her finding a dead bird.
Of course, there was nothing special about finding a dead bird, after all, so many birds die every single day. But she had gotten used to doing such good acts whenever she came across something similar.
Diamond was born and raised in the countryside. She was spoiled and pampered when growing up, despite her family being not being rich.
She wasn't a clever person, but she worked hard in everything she did, as she didn't want to let down her parents. Diamond wasn't an only child, but she had a younger sister who was doing her senior year in high school.
Her father worked in a factory while her mother was a hairdresser.
Her family wasn't rich, but they had enough to live by.
