The Return of the Cannon Fodder Trillion Heiress

Chapter 910 Hera’s Counter Attack

The moment the assassins left, Hera felt her strength drain from her body, nearly collapsing into her wheelchair. She’d be lying if she said she wasn’t shaken. Everything she’d done earlier had been a response to the moment, improvising under pressure, making split-second decisions that fit the situation.

She had simply followed her instincts, even if the plan seemed reckless and difficult to execute. But really, what choice did she have? If she hadn’t acted, she’d be dead by now, and worse, she might’ve dragged Xavier and Alexandre down with her.

"Are you alright?" Xavier rushed to Hera’s side, his voice laced with concern. She looked so pale that it made his heart clench with worry.

Hera nodded and gave him a faint smile, but then suddenly burst into laughter, soft and disbelieving. She couldn’t believe she’d actually pulled it off. Just moments ago, she thought she was done for, certain she wouldn’t survive. The overwhelming relief hit her all at once, and before she knew it, she was both laughing and crying.

Xavier gently pulled her into his arms, holding her close until her trembling eased. Once she’d calmed down, he wiped her tears and pressed a soft kiss to her forehead.

"You’re safe now," he said quietly, his voice warm with pride. "You were incredible, so brave. I’m proud of you."

His sincerity shone in his eyes, and Hera, still sniffling, broke into a sweet, grateful smile.

Just then, Hera’s bodyguards arrived. A few of them had bruises on their faces or split lips, their disheveled appearance revealing the intensity of the fight they had gone through. Thankfully, none of them were seriously injured.

Relieved, Hera instructed them to get their wounds treated. Since she, Xavier, and Alexandre were unharmed, there was no need for immediate concern. Still, the guards escorted her back to her room first to ensure her safety. A few of the less-injured ones remained stationed outside her door, while the others went to the nurses to get treated. Once they were treated, they rotated shifts so everyone could receive medical care.

While they tended to their wounds, Hera didn’t sit idle. She checked her phone to see if Sasha was awake, and sure enough, despite that it was still dawn in their country, he was still up.
