The Return of the Cannon Fodder Trillion Heiress

Chapter 892 Working Together

Now, hearing her brother’s voice, all that fear unraveled. She wept freely while Rafael, though shaken himself, comforted her as best he could.

"Don’t worry," he said gently. "I’m on my way. I’ll be there soon."

"No. Sister Hera said you and the others shouldn’t come," Minerva relayed gently. "She said you all still have important work to do. Xavier is already here with us, so she’s not lacking anyone to look after her. You should all focus on your work and mission. Soon, we’ll be home together again."

With those words, Minerva saw Hera being wheeled into the treatment room to have her fractured bones reset and put in a cast. The accident had been a huge deal, and given Hera’s celebrity status, paired with her association with Phantom and now Andarta Aria, it was inevitable that news of the crash would dominate the headlines.

On top of that, she had been livestreaming the race, so it wasn’t surprising that her other boyfriends had caught wind of the incident almost immediately and were likely already planning to rush to Paris.

But Hera had anticipated this. Despite the excruciating pain she was in, her face pale as paper, sweat clinging to her skin, she remained clear-headed. She knew they were all in the midst of a critical phase in their work, one that could dismantle major drug networks and address deep-rooted issues in the country. If even one of them left now, it could create vulnerabilities in the entire operation.

That was why, before her sedation, Hera mustered the strength to instruct Minerva and the others. She insisted they pass on her message, especially to Minerva’s brother, to stay where they were and see their mission through. Hera could handle this. She always had.

But the moment Hera was wheeled into the room, Minerva, distracted and overwhelmed, forgot to pass on her message right away. Her mind wasn’t functioning properly under the pressure, and she told herself she’d do it later. Fortunately, Rafael called her first.

As soon as she heard his voice, Minerva remembered.

Rafael, who had just stepped through the gate toward the plane, froze in place. "Did... Did Hera really say that?" he asked, his voice low, uncertain.

A few paces behind him, Dave and Luke also stopped in their tracks. The three of them had planned to take a private jet, but upon learning there was a nearby commercial flight departing sooner, they made the switch; time was everything. Waiting for the clearance, approval, and runway slot for their private plane would’ve taken too long.
