Chapter 814 Zen’s Background
Maybe Hera believed she was holding everything together—that she wasn’t letting anything slip, and that she was treating all her lovers equally. But in truth, it was clear to anyone paying attention that she had a favorite.
Still, none of them brought it up. When they agreed to share her, they knew it wouldn’t be easy for Hera to maintain a perfect balance, and they had accepted that.
As long as she didn’t outright reject them, and as long as she made an effort to show them care, none of them—Luke, Zhane, Xavier, Rafael, or even Dave—would make things difficult for her. Instead, they’d simply find ways to win more of her attention, to coax her affection, knowing she was doing her best.
As for Leo? He knew he was the main husband—and he had every intention of keeping that position for as long as he lived. The others had already accepted it. After all, Leo was too composed, too calculating, and just charming enough to outplay them all.
Even with five of them combined, they couldn’t quite match his subtle manipulations and ability to stay two steps ahead. In the end, they simply resigned themselves to fate.
"Well, what can I say? But honestly, Hera—if you need anything, don’t hesitate to ask for my help. I may look like a small-time celebrity, but I do come from a military family..." Zen leaned in, lowering his voice as if he were sharing a top-secret mission, his expression suddenly serious and secretive.
Hera raised an eyebrow, unconvinced, as she gave him a slow once-over. From head to toe, nothing about Zen screamed "military background." His laid-back posture, the lazy way he munched on his chocolate croissant, and the casual sprawl of his limbs all clashed with the image she had in mind—a person raised with military discipline should exude order, structure, and restraint.
Instead, Zen looked like he was one bite away from slumping over the table for a nap.
Where was the discipline? The resilience? The commanding presence? Sure, he had a good build, but aside from that? His dyed hair, goofy grin, and completely unbothered demeanor didn’t exactly scream "elite forces."
