But if Hera and her people were misunderstood or wrongly accused, it could trigger an all-out war—one that would inevitably drag countless innocent people into the crossfire. If that happened, Hera’s identity would likely be exposed to the world.
Worse, her public image could be destroyed. She might be branded as someone who endangers lives, or worse, the very cause of the conflict.

"Miss Cindy," he offered tentatively, "why don’t I take this downstairs for you? Or maybe you could call someone to help carry it? It’s quite a bit, and walking around with this might scare the patients..."
Zhane gave an awkward smile, clearly uncomfortable. He’d deliberately taken his time bringing the weapons out—not just because they were heavy, but because he knew how seeing guns and blades in the open could unsettle both patients and medical staff.
