Chapter 739 Can’t Take Dave Seriously
Tears and snot mixed together on Dave’s handsome face, creating such a comical mess that even the usually serious Zhane couldn’t help but chuckle. The sight was so ridiculous that the other three burst into laughter as well.
Hera, who had been on the verge of shedding tears at the movie’s emotional ending, found herself completely derailed by Dave’s exaggerated sobbing. What was supposed to be a heartbreaking, tear-jerking moment was now just plain hilarious.
Meanwhile, the bathwater had started to cool, even though Zhane had added heat stones multiple times to maintain the warmth. Hera’s fingers and toes were beginning to wrinkle from soaking for too long, signaling that it was time to wrap up.
Dave clung to Hera’s shoulder, bawling like a child as he wailed, "Sweetheart, you are not allowed to get Alzheimer’s when you grow old and wrinkly! I won’t let you forget about me! Wuwuwu!!! Just thinking about you, not even remembering who I am, breaks my heart all over again..."
Then, with teary eyes and a dramatic sniff, he suddenly turned to glare at Zhane. "Zhane, you better take good care of my sweetheart so she never develops such an illness! If she does, you’ll be the first I take revenge on. I swear, I’ll shut down your entire hospital, you quack!"
Dave’s accusation made it seem as if Zhane had already failed in his duty to protect Hera’s memory, all while Dave continued sobbing dramatically, clutching Hera like she was about to disappear.
Rafael, finally having enough of the fuss, rolled his eyes and shot back, "You fool, that’s not how it works. At this rate, she won’t even make it to Alzheimer’s—she might develop amnesia first from your earth-shattering wails. My ears are ringing, and my brain is buzzing nonstop!"
After Rafael randomly blurted out something nonsensical just to annoy Dave, Zhane, ever the voice of reason, brought the conversation back to reality.
"As long as Hera maintains a balanced diet, exercises regularly, and doesn’t have a hereditary predisposition to Alzheimer’s, she’s in the clear. So stop making a fuss—or we might just induce selective amnesia..." Zhane added with a smirk.
