Chapter 727 What Really Happened
Rafael’s face was filled with fury as he glared at the woman who had conspired against him. Even after waking up under the false belief that she had spent the night with him, she still had the audacity to put on an act in front of the cameras, repeatedly calling his name to pin the blame on him.
But the moment Rafael appeared—just as Dave and Zhane had done before him—her facade crumbled. Panic flickered in her eyes as realization struck: Rafael had seen through her scheme from the very beginning.
She had no idea how he had managed to slip away unnoticed or when he had discovered her plan. But judging by the icy rage in his gaze, she knew she had failed.
Rafael sneered, a menacing smile spreading across his face. How did he manage to escape their scheme?
Last night, when Hera was taken away by Luke after realizing she had been drugged, Athena and Zen followed closely behind them as they exited the banquet hall.
With trembling hands, Hera frantically rummaged through her small bag for the bottle of anaphrodisiac she always carried—something she never forgot after Athena’s repeated reminders and after what had happened to Leo twice.
Sensing her urgency, Luke quickly helped her retrieve the bottle, fed her one pill, and handed another to Zen so Athena could take it as well. Without hesitation, Luke and Zen escorted Hera to the car.
However, since their own vehicle was too conspicuous, they opted to use Hera’s bodyguard’s SUV instead. Zen took the wheel with Athena in the passenger seat, while Luke and Hera sat in the back.
Since Hera and Athena had just taken the pill and it needed time to take effect, both women were still overly affectionate and handsy with the men beside them. Hera, in particular, was all over Luke, her hands roaming restlessly.
As Luke struggled to keep her hands in check, he suddenly noticed his own body growing uncomfortably hot, his breath becoming labored.
At first, he assumed it was simply a reaction to Hera’s constant touching—after all, she was the woman he loved, and her clinging to him like a koala was bound to elicit a response.
