Her gaze darkened with disdain as she looked at Hera, scoffing at her greed. ’As if having Xavier by her side isn’t enough—she’s still out here looking for another sugar daddy?’
She shot Hera a pointed look, but to her frustration, she was completely ignored.
’Ha! Keep up your little act. Let’s see who ends up humiliated in the end,’ Emily thought with a smug snort.
"Hera? Are you here to check out this new place too?"
The tense atmosphere was suddenly interrupted by a newcomer entering from outside. As Hera, Athena, and the rest of the onlookers turned to look, they saw Zen strolling in casually, completely unfazed by the gathered crowd.
"Want to eat together?" he added, now standing in front of Hera. Without hesitation, he reached out and ruffled her hair, the gesture affectionate—like an older brother doting on his younger sister.
"Oh! Now that you know you’re failing the financial assessment, you called for backup so you wouldn’t lose face, huh? Such a scheming woman," Emily sneered, as if a lightbulb had just gone off in her head.
Seeing Zen approach so casually, completely unbothered by the crowd, she immediately assumed he was already aware of the situation and had come to bail Hera out.
