"Yes, haven’t you been spending time with their CEO these days?" the professor asked, sounding puzzled by Hera’s uncertainty.
Then it hit her. The reason the company’s name seemed so familiar was because it belonged to Greyson Corporation—specifically, the investment division that Luke personally managed.
She turned her head to the side, and her eyes met Luke’s. He was watching her with a knowing grin, as if he had been expecting this call all along and was patiently waiting for her reaction.
"I understand. I’ll think about it and check with my manager to see if I can fit it into my schedule. Thank you for letting me know," Hera replied, maintaining eye contact with Luke.
As she ended the call, Luke stood up from his chair, his fingers trailing along the table as he slowly made his way toward her. Hera felt a slight nervousness creep in as she watched him approach, her grip tightening around her phone.
"Did you plan this all along?" Hera asked, her voice slightly unsteady as nervousness crept in, her heart pounding in her chest.
Luke chuckled, a warm smile playing on his lips. "How else am I supposed to spend more time with you if I don’t bring you to my company?" he replied casually.
