The Return of the Cannon Fodder Trillion Heiress

Chapter 656 Children Playing Around

Without saying much, Hera left Zhane’s arm and gave Rafael a gentle hug as she tried not to put too much pressure on Rafael’s wound.

"I miss you too." She said, without waiting for Rafael to say it, and indeed, Rafael’s smiles widened, but after Hera gave the two a hug, Leo like a needy cat, immediately pulled Hera back into his arms and hugged her from behind.

Hera tilted her head slightly, her fingers gently running through Leo’s hair as she asked, "What’s wrong?"

Leo, his head resting comfortably on her shoulder, let out a soft sigh. "I’m just recharging," he murmured, his voice slightly muffled. "So I won’t miss you too much once I get back to work... because I know I will."

His words carried the weight of longing, his tone almost childlike, as if he were seeking her undivided attention. Hera felt the possessiveness in his embrace, the unspoken emotions simmering beneath his usual composure. Something was clearly on his mind—he wasn’t normally this clingy.

Dave, who was just beginning to shake off the remnants of sleep, arched a slow, deliberate eyebrow as he observed the scene. He opened his mouth, ready to comment, but after a brief moment of contemplation, he wisely decided against it.

"Then I guess I’ll recharge too," Dave declared, seamlessly joining the bandwagon of needy cats. He scooted closer to Hera, gently taking her hand and pressing it against his cheek.

A teasing smirk played on his lips as he added, "Leaving the country for a week buried me in work, and I’ll need all the energy I can get from you, sweetheart, to deal with everything waiting for me."

Hera chuckled softly, shaking her head at his antics. She knew that between handling the embezzlement and tax evasion issues at the Barcelona branch, Dave and the others had barely spent any time with her.

Meanwhile, Xavier had been the one by her side nearly 24/7, making their absence even more noticeable. Now that they were finally back, it seemed they weren’t wasting any opportunity to make up for lost time.

Only Luke refrained from competing for Hera’s attention while Leo and Dave shamelessly soaked up as much of her presence as they could.
