Chapter 647 The Unexpected
The investigator continued presenting evidence to the press, maintaining a calm and professional demeanor, while the assistant on stage grew increasingly pale.
Each new piece of evidence seemed to drain the color from his face, as if it were confirming the very secrets he had hoped to keep hidden.
He pressed his lips together tightly, fighting the urge to step off the stage, but found himself paralyzed, unsure of where he could go to escape the scrutiny.
The reporters clicked their cameras relentlessly, capturing every moment, while the cameramen did their best to document the evidence with sharp clarity.
Every now and then, they sneaked glances at the assistant, capturing his nervous expressions, and even turning their lenses toward the other employees gathered in the background, all of them caught in the growing tension of the moment.
"For the past four days, we have been meticulously monitoring and cross-checking all the records and traces," the investigator stated.
"Unfortunately, the missing funds have been transferred to a Swiss account abroad, making them extremely difficult to track."
"Recovering the money will undoubtedly take time—if it can even be recovered at all. However, we are doing everything in our power to resolve this matter."
He paused, his tone growing more serious. "With the evidence we have gathered, it is clear that the company has engaged in tax evasion."
"Based on our findings, the discrepancies could amount to hundreds of millions." As he finished, he turned off his laser pointer and faced the reporters, signaling that he was now open to questions.
"Sir! If the evidence you’ve presented is accurate, how do you explain the discrepancies between the documents filed in the archive and the accounts on the server?" one reporter asked, stepping forward with a sharp, investigative tone as they pointed out the inconsistency.
