Hera, who had been staring down at her hands, deep in thought about how to explain the situation, was startled.

The realization that they trusted her so implicitly made her eyes sting with unshed tears. She truly appreciated them more than words could express.
Her mind was still racing with plans for how to handle the branch company’s situation, and she wasn’t ready to explain everything about herself just yet.
As everyone fastened their seatbelts and adjusted their headsets, Leo’s voice broke through her thoughts once more. "Wifey, where to?"
A wide smile unconsciously spread across Hera’s lips as she looked at Leo. "Cindy asked me to step in and help with the Avery branch. It seems everyone else is tied up handling loose ends in their own areas, so there’s no one available to manage things in Barcelona."
"She needed me to investigate personally since the branch’s head was taken into police custody for embezzlement and tax evasion," she explained.
Hera made sure to brief them on the situation so they wouldn’t be caught off guard later when they saw her managing things on behalf of the Avery family while Vince was away.
"And she promised to give me a great reward for fixing this issue. You know how much Cindy has looked out for me, so I really want to help her," Hera said, her tone earnest.
She wasn’t lying—everything she said was true, even if she kept certain details about her identity to herself.
