After Alice’s relentless provocations, Hera’s lips curled into a mocking smile, her eyes filled with amusement rather than anger.
She found Alice’s attempts to rile her up utterly laughable.
Just as Alice’s words hung in the air, offering her nothing more than an opening to walk away, Hera noticed a familiar sight—Xavier’s van rolled up from the back exit.
The vehicle rolled smoothly to a stop in front of Hera, and the doors opened automatically.
Inside, she saw Daisy sitting in the passenger seat, while Xavier comfortably lounged in his leather seat, his gaze fixed on Hera with a knowing look.
"Sorry it took us so long," Xavier apologized with a warm smile.
"I asked my road manager and Daisy to come together, so we could all share the ride back together. How about a snack before we head back?" His eyes were fixed solely on Hera, unable to look anywhere else as he spoke.
The moment Hera caught sight of him, her eyes lit up with a spark of delight.
There was something playful in her gaze, as if a teasing thought was dancing through her mind, something about Xavier that amused her.
