"Eh?! Then where are you going?" Dave asked, slightly baffled.
Before he could continue, Xavier pushed past him, joined by Rafael. "She’s going with us," Rafael declared, wrapping an arm around Hera’s waist.
Xavier shot Rafael a dissatisfied glance but still took Hera’s hand as they began walking.
The other four followed closely behind, curious and inquiring about their plans.
"Where are you guys going? Planning to teach her how to skip school?" Luke asked playfully, trailing behind with a grin, while Leo walked behind Hera, a knowing smile on his face but staying silent.
"Don’t lump me in with Rafael," Xavier protested, crossing his arms.
"What do you mean? You both have a knack for skipping class. You sleep in the infirmary while he races off somewhere. What are we supposed to think when you’re dragging Hera along with you on a Monday morning when she should be in school?" Dave asked, furrowing his brow.
Despite being seen as the black sheep of his family and known for his mischievous, rebellious streak in school, Dave surprisingly wasn’t the troublemaker everyone assumed.
This was largely due to his mother; no matter his age, if he ever tried to skip school or act out, he could count on receiving a good spanking from her.
Although he was a straight-A student who excelled effortlessly due to his natural intelligence, just like his friends, Dave couldn’t simply skip classes like Rafael and Xavier to pursue his own interests. Even now, he held onto a lingering resentment and bitterness about that.
He often felt he had missed out on many childhood opportunities to explore and experience life like Rafael did.
