Chapter 386 The Real Reason Behind Her Taunting
Hera was determined not to let her good mood be spoiled. After enjoying a delightful breakfast with Bry and the others, and getting to know Zhane and Dave better than she had from the novel, she felt she had already won the day. However, encountering Sienna and the others signaled the arrival of trouble and drama, which threatened to disrupt her positive start.
She was not in the mood to deal with these girls any longer and had resolved to ignore their nonsense after the altercation earlier that morning. One drama-filled encounter a day was already more than enough, and she had no patience for any additional headaches. So, before Sienna could unleash any sarcastic or derogatory remarks, Hera preemptively silenced her.
Sienna was taken aback and visibly confused, but Hera paid her no mind. She maintained her mischievous smile, looking every bit the enchanting figure in her floral dress that accentuated her curves.
"Just so you know, Sienna Lennon and Claire White," Hera began, her gaze fixed intently on the two women she’d named. Sienna straightened up, her expression darkening as she recognized Hera’s condescending tone and braced herself for another confrontation. In contrast, Claire appeared visibly guilty and frightened, clearly unsettled by the situation.
Hera didn’t give Sienna a moment to retaliate; she took the reins in this encounter. "Didn’t you know that both of you are now blacklisted from all Avery establishments?" Hera said, her smile sweet but cutting.
Her words struck a nerve with Sienna, intensifying the animosity between them. Hera was fully aware that avoiding Sienna wouldn’t dissolve the hatred; in fact, it might only fuel it further. Since the female lead halo came with its share of drama, Hera decided it was better to confront it head-on and end the confrontation on her own terms.
Hera’s bombshell remark hit Sienna and Claire like a boulder, leaving them stunned. Just as the tension peaked, a group of business professionals walked in and witnessed the scene. They were all familiar with Sienna’s penchant for being the center of attention and her high-profile demeanor, which only added to the growing spectacle.
Most of them had heard a thing or two about the Lennons, so they recognized Sienna. The incident at the racecourse a few hours earlier was just beginning to make its way through the upper echelons of society. However, the full details of Sienna Lennon’s supposed engagement to Zhane Everett had yet to become widely known.
Even before the previous rumor had a chance to spread, another one was already brewing. Sienna realized this, her eyes turning panicked as she scanned the lobby. At least a dozen businessmen, gathered at the Golden Dragon Pavilion for meetings and entertainment, had witnessed the entire exchange.
Hera had anticipated this moment. When she noticed the influx of guests arriving, especially on a busy Friday, she seized the opportunity to drive the final nail into Sienna’s coffin. Her goal was to reduce the number of people targeting her, at least for a while. After all, she was still at the beginning of the storyline, where things were relatively mild, yet enemies were already cropping up from all sides.
