Hera glared at Rafael. ’There’s really nothing likable about this guy. Such a brute!’ she thought as she pouted, resentfully sending the two contracts she had chosen.
"I’ve sent you the two contracts. Please review them to see if they meet your approval," Hera said, her eyes narrowed. ’How could he even call me a minx?’
Watching Hera sulk upon seeing the nickname he had assigned to her number made Rafael smile, his eyes crinkling with amusement. Initially, he hadn’t intended to tease her, but now he found himself inclined to do so. He couldn’t quite explain why he found her reaction and expression so adorable at that moment, but it was undeniably warming his heart, tickling it like a feather.
With a roll of her eyes, she managed to click the send button. Soon after, Rafael’s phone buzzed, and he saw ’Little Minx’ on the screen had sent him a message. He didn’t think twice and clicked the message, only to find an attached file. When he opened it, he was surprised to see two contracts that he had failed to obtain. His hands trembled as they hovered over the screen.
Initially, Rafael didn’t expect Hera to present anything of value comparable to what she had requested. He believed she was merely sending a contract to satisfy herself, not that he cared at that moment because he had already made a promise.
But as he looked over the contract she sent, Rafael sucked in a breath, his heart beating loudly in surprise. The two contracts were not just good—they were exceptionally good. "Hera, I don’t need this. You can consider the contract I gave you as a gift," he said, hesitating before he could add, "I don’t want you to get into trouble for these two contracts."
"No, my manager made it clear that any international contract in our company’s possession is incomparable to the one I asked of you. So, these two can be considered yours now, and my company won’t be upset. In fact, they might even commend me for securing this contract from you in exchange for just two," Hera said smugly as if showing off to an older sibling.
But what she said was true. The reason why that contract was considered superior wasn’t just because of the brand. It was also because Xavier would work closely with the female ambassador, potentially propelling the female artist’s career to new heights by leveraging Xavier’s influence. This was a rare instance where he didn’t mind someone riding his coattails. Even his fans wouldn’t be upset because, under normal circumstances, using his name or riding his coattails would provoke their ire, regardless of the artist’s gender.
