Chapter 257 The True Diamond in the Rough
After hearing Hera’s words, the Director frowned, but he stepped out of the room, leaving Hera alone with Logan. She approached him slowly, noticing his visible distress. The microphone was already live, broadcasting everything to those outside the room.
"Hey, are you alright?" Hera asked softly, meeting Logan’s eyes with concern.
Logan shook his head. "I don’t know, I’m scared," he admitted honestly.
"Why is that?" Hera inquired gently.
Logan pursed his lips before saying, "I’m afraid that you’ll lose the bet and have to pay that huge amount." He murmured, but it was still loud enough for Hera and everyone listening through the microphone to hear.
"Why would I lose when you sang so well?" Hera tilted her head, genuinely confused by his worries.
"You think I sang well? Really?" Logan sprang to his feet and stepped closer to Hera, his towering figure looming over her.
"Yeah, that’s why we want to hear your raw voice," she answered matter-of-factly.
"Really?!" Logan’s earlier fidgety demeanor was now replaced by restrained excitement and happiness. When he saw Hera nod in confirmation, he felt giddy and overjoyed. "Will you stay here with me while I sing?" he asked nervously. It was the first time he had received such a genuine compliment, and he couldn’t contain his joy. Being near Hera gave him the power and encouragement to do his best.
