Chapter 244 Breakfast Date with Luke
As a male lead, this posed a challenge, but it only fueled his determination rather than pushing him away. He saw it as an opportunity to prove himself and win over the beauty. An easy target wouldn’t be as cherished a reward as one that was hard-earned.
This only heightened their masculine instinct to pursue the prey with all their might. Unknowingly, Hera made herself more desirable to the male leads because of her guarded demeanor and closed heart.
After their one-hour jog, Luke invited Hera to breakfast. Initially hesitant, Hera was reluctant to join him in his apartment because she felt sweaty and insecure about potentially smelling of sweat. Like any young woman, she cared about her appearance, especially around the opposite sex.
Luke noticed Hera’s concern and instead of ignoring it, he approached her and deliberately leaned into her ear, taking a long, intentional sniff. "You smell wonderful," he murmured in his usual gentle voice, which now carried a hint of seduction, almost purring.
Hera shivered slightly as his warm breath tickled her ear, aware that Luke was teasing her, causing her face to flush with embarrassment.
"Would you like to shower before breakfast?" Luke asked, maintaining his close proximity to Hera. His tone carried a hint of suggestion. Though Hera couldn’t see his expression, she sensed his teasing smirk in the way he spoke, and she could even hear the slight vibration in his voice due to their closeness.
"I-I... yes." She answered, that since she needed to go the the company to meet with Betty for the projection of her career after her debut using the Variety Show, she also needed to go to the university, so she could leave Luke’s apartment and go straight to where she needed to go after their breakfast. Although Luke was acting like this, she knew that Luke never forced a woman to be intimate with him.
Given Luke’s and the other male leads’ character backgrounds, they had no prior experience with women before encountering the female lead. This lack of experience meant that when they finally did experience the pleasure and intimacy of being with a woman, they found it irresistible. However, because they were still inexperienced with women, Hera felt reassured that their interactions would likely be confined to harmless teasing.
Luke’s eyes narrowed, but he didn’t say anything more as he resumed walking, maintaining his gentlemanly demeanor. When they both entered the elevator, Luke exited two floors before the penthouse, allowing Hera to continue to her room. He watched her as the elevator doors slowly closed, his eyes glinting with unreadable emotions.
When Hera finally reached the penthouse, her own place, she let out a sigh of relief. She hadn’t expected it to be so intense standing before the first male lead while he teased her. She couldn’t deny that it was hard not to be affected—he was so irresistibly handsome that she could literally feel the pull.
It was a feeling akin to how she felt around Leo but slightly different, something hard to put into words. Leo, with his domineeringly possessive demeanor, had an innocent and adorable side she had glimpsed in their few interactions—a genuine reaction. In contrast, Luke, who appeared to be a gentleman, was actually the complete opposite, possessing a wild and possessively domineering nature. Despite being polar opposites, both men elicited similar feelings within her, creating a unique and confusing blend of emotions.
The similarity is still unknown to her but she could feel it.
