When Zhane’s subordinate entered, the first face he looked at was Zhane’s. It was clear he had interrupted something important, and he wasn’t sure whether to laugh or cry. However, the information they had gathered was crucial, so he had no choice but to bite the bullet and report their findings.
"Sir, we followed Mr. Carson’s suggestion and managed to get a confession from the Russian drug smuggler. He handed over their transaction book, and just a few minutes ago, we found a familiar name on the list. This person bought the same aphrodisiac that was used at the Dragon Palace Hotel, which drugged one of your friends." Zhane’s subordinate carefully avoided mentioning the methods they used to make the smuggler talk, knowing there was a woman present. He understood that their Young Master was doing all this for her, so he had no reservations about reporting in her presence.
The moment Zhane’s subordinate mentioned "one of your friends," both Dave and Zhane instantly recoiled at the term, their frowns deepening. Despite this, Zhane remained focused on the task at hand. Since Hera was also one of the victims, they needed to resolve the issue promptly to provide her with peace of mind.
"Continue," Zhane said, remaining seated. His expression was indifferent, but his emerald eyes briefly flashed with a myriad of emotions that passed so quickly no one noticed.
"Yes, sir." He cleared his throat and continued his report. "The familiar name I mentioned earlier is Mr. Tyler Lennon, the older brother of your... um..." Zhane’s subordinate hesitated, unsure how to refer to the brother of Zhane’s supposed fiancée with Hera present, so he diverted the attention again. "After we found his name in the transaction book, we checked if he was in the vicinity. He was on the guest list of the hotel’s restaurant. We cross-referenced all the names from the transaction book with the guest list and investigated the relationships of all the guests to see if they have anyone they are related to in the transaction book. Only Mr. Lennon matched."
Dave sneered mockingly. "He didn’t even bother to use someone else’s name? Either he was overconfident that the smuggler wouldn’t talk, or he’s just plain stupid for not covering his tracks." Shaking his head in disdain, Dave felt certain that Tyler Lennon was behind it. Feeling bored, he absentmindedly started playing with Hera’s long hair between his fingers.
He stepped forward to hand Zhane the report before continuing. "We investigated why Mr. Lennon was there and discovered he was on a blind date with the sole heiress of the Lowery family in the private room adjacent to private room 1, where Mr. Carson and the others were dining."
