The Return of the Cannon Fodder Trillion Heiress

Chapter 141 Who Benifitted?

As Hera, Zen, and Xavier approached Bry, his father, and Uncle, Xavier continued to hold her waist, the gentle peck lingering in her mind. Yet, she couldn’t discern if it was intentional or if he was merely caught up in the moment, never attempting to take advantage of her.

Hera attributed the turn of events to Xavier’s acting prowess. She understood that skilled actors fully embody their characters, and as Xavier was portraying her fiancé, it was natural for him to be affectionate and touchy with her.

Upon grasping the situation behind the scenes, Hera nodded to herself, determined not to create any awkwardness with Xavier. However, to her surprise, she realized she didn’t feel awkward at all, not even in the slightest.

"Sister, exercise extreme caution when you encounter that baldy," Bry warned, his tone dripping with not just caution but pure disdain and his eyes showed his hatred.

She found Bry’s reaction a bit unsettling. Despite any past disagreements between that man and his family, Bry’s level of hostility seemed unwarranted. Bry wasn’t the type to harbor random hatred towards someone unless they had done something to upset him or had committed a grievous offense.

Hera was so lost in her thoughts for a moment that she failed to notice Xavier’s intense gaze fixed upon her. Not only was she unaware of his stare, but she also remained oblivious to his hand still comfortably resting in the small of her back.

"You really shouldn’t get too close to that man. His temper is notoriously bad, and his personality is a bit eccentric, I suppose," Bry’s uncle expressed with genuine concern, his reaction more subdued compared to Bry’s. "That man is one of the well-known scions of a wealthy family from the capital," he added, cautioning Hera to avoid any further conflicts with him. Bry’s uncle believed that as mere celebrities, they would find themselves in an unfavorable situation if they clashed with him again.

Bry’s uncle was well aware that despite their fame and fortune, celebrities could see their wealth and status vanish in an instant if they offended individuals with powerful backgrounds and couldn’t compete with them in any capacity.

Hera also understood the underlying meaning behind his words, so she observed Bry for a bit, noting his lowered head which obscured his expression. However, his emotions were evident in the tightness of his clenched fists, his small knuckles whitening with the force of his grip.

"We understand uncle, don’t worry about us. You should know us by now, me and these two don’t cause trouble, however, we are not afraid of trouble." Hera smiled sweetly her eyes turning to crescent, she then turned around to face Zen and Xavier, only then did Xavier lose his grip on Hera’s waist but before he even displayed any dissatisfaction or complaint, Hera added. "Right?"

"Right," Zen replied with a nonchalant demeanor. To him, the man’s status as a well-known scion meant little; he might only be a third-rate wealthy heir in his eyes. Zen felt confident in his ability to handle any unruly behavior from him. A smug smile formed on Zen’s lips as he entertained thoughts of what he would do if the man dared to lay a hand on Hera.

Zen and Xavier both noticed the lecherous gaze directed at Hera, brimming with fantasies and greed as if he desired to possess every beautiful woman he laid eyes on.
