The Return of the Cannon Fodder Trillion Heiress

Chapter 127 Who’s getting Lucky

After finishing with herself, she approached her catch. Taking a sturdy string crafted from woven weeds, she carefully made a hole under each fish’s mouth and threaded the string through, securing them in place.

She grouped three fish together and tied each remaining fish individually with a string. Once finished, she headed straight back to the village. Carrying ten large fish proved challenging, and despite the difficulty, she pushed herself to walk faster, her determination evident even in her struggle, adding a touch of endearing charm to her efforts.

She walked along the road back to the village, her gait awkward as she nearly stumbled over a small stone that rolled under her heel. With a quick step forward and a slight lean, she managed to regain her balance, arms shooting upward to prevent the fish in her hand from tumbling to the ground or being crushed.

But her misfortune turned to fortune when she angrily kicked the stone that nearly caused her to stumble. To her surprise, the stone struck a plank leaning against the wire fence along the road she walked. The impact caused the plank to wobble and then fall, revealing a rainbow-colored egg hidden beneath it. Hera wouldn’t have noticed it if she hadn’t stumbled upon this unexpected chain of events and its colorful paint.

Initially, Hera suspected she might be hallucinating. She blinked repeatedly, unable to rub her eyes as she was clutching the fish tightly. Her gaze was fixed on the colorful object. The cameraman, observing her, also spotted the rainbow egg and couldn’t contain his excitement.

"Oh, the Easter egg!" he exclaimed with enthusiasm.

As Hera snapped out of her initial disbelief, a wide grin spread across her face, her eyes crinkling with joy. With an eager skip, she approached the fence and squatted down beside it.

"Well, well, look who’s getting lucky today!" she exclaimed, her smile as radiant as a cat who had just scored a fish for a snack.

Hera wasted no time in carefully placing her fish amidst the cluster of grass and stashing the Easter egg securely in her bag. She couldn’t shake off Athena’s warnings about groups where valuable finds were easily pilfered by others. "Huhur! I’m not that weak and naive." she thought to herself, determined to safeguard her discovery. She meticulously checked her bag, ensuring there were no holes through which the egg could slip away.
