Chapter 109 Fat One
As Hera approached, the barely breathing pheasant in her hand caught Bry’s attention. He dashed toward her, excitement lighting up his eyes. "Sister!!! You caught another fat one!!!!" he exclaimed.
It was only then that the others noticed the pheasant in Hera’s hand. The earlier distraction of her alluring visuals had captivated their attention, causing them to overlook what she had in her clothes or what she was carrying.
Now that they had the chance to examine them, Xavier carefully placed the eggs in the grass one by one before dusting off his clothes.
"Eggs too!!!" Bry exclaimed excitedly, his enthusiasm matching Xavier’s careful handling of the newfound treasures.
Hera walked closer as she chuckled. "I got lucky and came across this pheasant hiding in the bush."
"Woah! You really have luck on your side ey?" Zen came forward as he observed their new ingredients. "Wouldn’t it only mean that we will not get hungry with you around?" He meant to be playful with what he said but somehow, it also felt like they were treating her as their sugar mommy.
"Wait, let me rephrase that..." Zen said nervously.
Hera responded with an equally playful tone as she chuckled, "I’ll happily provide for my babies," aiming to ease any embarrassment Zen might have felt.
"Then, I’ll be your first," Xavier interjected, his back facing the camera and the others while he was looking straight at Hera’s eyes, with a playful tone matching hers and Zen’s. However, his expression wasn’t as lighthearted; instead, he appeared quite serious. "Sugar baby..." he added with a hint of intensity in his voice.
Since Zen didn’t catch Xavier’s expression, he added lightheartedly, "Me too! I’d love to be your sugar baby." Stepping forward, he struck a silly pose, trying to catch Hera’s eye and act cute.
Hera’s attention remained on Xavier, still caught off guard by his unexpected comment. She grappled with whether he meant it seriously or if was simply joking. However, she reminded herself they had only recently met and spent a few days together as a team, making it unlikely for genuine interest to develop so quickly.
