Chapter 85 Horseback Riding
"Then, can we do it now?!!!" Bry asked eagerly.
"Will anyone get angry if we go get some horses from the stables?" Hera glanced around, noting the absence of anyone else aside from the three of them in the stables.
As if remembering something, Bry dashed out of the stable, leaving Hera and Zen behind. Hera couldn’t help but chuckle at Bry’s childlike enthusiasm. It was refreshing and heartwarming to witness.
Not long after, Bry returned, bursting with energy. "I’ll ask my father for permission, just wait for me for a bit. Okay?!" With a nod from Hera, he dashed off once more, leaving the two behind.
Hera and Zen exchanged amused glances before chuckling at Bry’s visible excitement. While they waited, Hera, and Zen wandered around the stable, admiring the well-kept horse. Zen expressed his appreciation for their appearance but admitted he didn’t know much about the different horse breeds. This sparked a conversation between them, leading to a discussion about the various breeds and their characteristics.
Hera enthusiastically pointed out the various breeds of horses in the stables, detailing their origins and unique characteristics compared to the others. Zen listened intently, clearly enjoying Hera’s explanations and the opportunity to learn something new.
Time seemed to pass quickly, and Bry returned with another teenager, who appeared only a few years younger than Hera. "My father sent my brother to assist us with saddling the horses," Bry announced eagerly, pulling his older brother along to hasten his movements.
Bry’s brother guided Hera to choose a horse to ride. Hera was drawn to the elegant Friesian black horse, which stood taller than the others. Its glossy black coat shimmered under the light, accentuating its strong muscles and imposing stature. Despite its somewhat intimidating appearance, Hera fell in love with the horse at first sight, feeling a strong desire to take it for a ride.
"Haha, miss, you have a keen eye. This Friesian horse is my father’s beloved companion. It’s won numerous awards in equestrian races since reaching adulthood..." His expression soured suddenly, and he continued, "But I’m afraid I can’t allow you to ride it. It’s quite particular about who can handle it, only permitting my father and uncle to ride. Otherwise, it tends to buck off anyone else who attempts to mount it."
"It’s true, sister. Diamond doesn’t take well to others... It won’t even eat unless it’s fed by father."
Zen interjected innocently, "But Hera has been feeding it roughage since you left."
