Chapter 66 Bidding Starts
Hera remained silent, her gaze fixed on the Auctioneer standing on the stage, presenting an exquisite pocket watch nestled in a beautiful blue velvet box.
With the presence of newcomers, particularly those seated in the VIP row, the auctioneer reiterated the latest bid, announcing, "Patek Philippe Supercomplication for $15 million, going once..."
Without hesitation, Leo swiftly grabbed the number plate resting on his armrest and raised it high. "$20 million," he declared, his commanding voice echoing throughout the room, causing even Hera to turn her head and gaze at him.
"What?! $20 million for just a watch?" Hera thought skeptically, unaware that she possessed an even more expensive collection in her walk-in closet.
But it didn’t stop there; a gentle, melodic voice chimed in without missing a beat. "$25 million..." Hera couldn’t resist tracing the voice and found herself locking eyes with the most captivating golden orbs. They shone like molten gold, gazing directly into hers with gentle smiling eyes, a relaxed expression playing on his lips.
His number plate back to his armrest as soon as he mentioned his offer but his eyes remained with her, as if he was gazing through her soul. They remained as such for quite a while that Leo felt alarm bells ringing in his head.
Hera was momentarily captivated by his appearance, but she quickly averted her gaze, which was enough to ignite a competitive spirit in Leo. His voice resonated once more as he declared, "$30 million..."
Outwardly composed, Leo simmered with inner turmoil. He recognized the unmistakable look the man gave Hera and felt a surge of possessiveness. ’Trying to seduce my woman right under my nose? Dream on!’
In a whirlwind of bidding, the supposed $24 million pocket watch skyrocketed to $50 million in just 15 minutes. Neither side hesitated to up the ante, each adding $5 million to their bids in a tense back-and-forth.
