Chapter 53 Alexi going Berserk
"Alexi, stop!!!!" she shouted frantically, her voice filled with alarm. She was deeply shaken by the sudden turn of events, and her fears about the events in the novel seemed to loom larger than ever. She was terrified for Zhane, fearing that he might suffer the same fate as the characters in the novel who were left unrecognizable after being attacked by Alexi.
"Why is this happening now? What triggered it? Minerva isn’t even here!" Hera’s mind raced with a barrage of questions, each one adding to her mounting anxiety.
Gerald sprang into action, attempting to pry Alexi away from Zhane. However, Alexi seemed to possess an almost superhuman strength, far beyond what Gerald had expected. Despite Gerald’s efforts, Alexi remained firmly rooted in place, his resistance overwhelming. Meanwhile, Zhane’s forehead glistened with sweat as he strained to maintain his hold on Alexi, his struggle becoming increasingly apparent.
The security team, accompanying Gerald, rushed forward to intervene, joining forces to pry Alexi away from Zhane. Their classmates stood in stunned silence, perplexed by the sudden eruption of violence and unsure of what had triggered Alexi’s outburst. The transformation was alarming; Alexi typically exuded a friendly, approachable demeanor, known for his easygoing nature and good looks, resembling the quintessential "guy next door." This drastic change in behavior was entirely unexpected, leaving them all unnerved and bewildered.
Despite four security personnel and Gerald’s presence, they found themselves unable to pry Alexi away. Despite her fear, she couldn’t shake the nagging thought of why Alexi was behaving this way. Then, a sudden realization hit her like a bolt of lightning: ’Could it be that Alexi’s actions were driven by the storyline itself? If so, what triggered this deviation from the plot, and why did it stray so far from the narrative? Hera couldn’t help but wonder if she inadvertently assumed Minerva’s role in the story, unknowingly provoking Alexi’s reaction by getting herself involved with another character. Just as Alexi’s fury erupted in the novel when he feared losing Minerva, could his current behavior stem from a similar fear upon learning of Hera’s connection to someone else?’
With each passing thought, Hera felt her limbs tremble and her eyes widen with uncertainty. If her suspicions were correct, then the only solution to calm Alexi down would be to mimic Minerva’s actions in the novel, wouldn’t it?
Summoning her courage, Hera took a leap of faith and moved towards Alexi from behind. However, Gerald quickly noticed her intentions and firmly intervened. "No! He’s incredibly dangerous at the moment. Stay back!" His voice carried a note of urgency, fueled by his fear of Hera getting harmed.
Hera locked eyes with Gerald, her determination unwavering as she pressed on with her approach. A collective gasp hung in the air, everyone frozen in fear, yet unable to intervene for dread of Alexi’s potential reaction.
Undeterred, Hera courageously closed the distance to Alexi, her heart pounding in her chest with each step. "If my speculation is incorrect," she thought, her mind racing with the worst-case scenario, "I might end up hospitalized." Yet, she pushed forward, fueled by the urgency of the moment and the hope of calming the storm raging within Alexi.
