Chapter 104 Leaving Scars
Kingsley was pacing the room like a caged mad man. His fists clenched and unclenched at his sides. The air was thick with tension. His men were running back and forth, shouting into phones, trying to track the van, gather any bit of information.
Earlier, the few men who survived the ordeal had called him that they were ambushed on their way to Trevor’s mansion. And Jasmine,Nicole and his infant baby were kidnapped. For a moment, he thought his world stopped and everything stopped moving.
He couldn’t pick himself up again. A raw sense of anger and fear clouded him. He didn’t need anyone to tell him that the people were Elite members. They all seemed to be everywhere, lurking in the shadows, looking for every chance to hurt Jasmine.
Raymond stood in the corner, his shoulders were tense. His eyes were red and swollen from crying. He had just come back from Hailey’s school. Since Nicole was taken, he had to pick her up and drop her off at the Trevor’s mansion with Mr and Mrs Trevor who were guarded by security men.
All he could think about was Nicole, and it showed in his trembling hands and the way his chest rose and fell in shallow, uneven breaths.
Kingsley stopped pacing and walked over to him. His voice was low but firm as he placed a hand on Raymond’s back. "We will find them," Kingsley said, trying to sound sure for both of their sakes.
Raymond swallowed hard, trying to hold back more tears. His voice cracked, his resolve was long gone. "I’m scared, Kingsley. Nicole... she might act brave but she’s probably very scared right now.."
Kingsley looked him straight in the eyes. "No one’s going to lose anyone. Not on my watch."
Raymond nodded, but a tear escaped down his cheek. He wiped it away roughly with his sleeve.
The noise in the room continued—the ringing phones, frantic voices, and urgent footsteps. Then, suddenly, Kingsley’s phone beeped, indicating an incoming call.
He glanced at the screen and saw that the call was from an Unknown Number.
