Chapter 81 I’m Going Nowhere
Jasmine returned with Kingsley a few days later. Kingsley had to do a lot more convincing for her to leave Nicole’s apartment.
The next few days were quite thrilling for Jasmine. Surprisingly, her father had agreed for her to leave with kingsley to Paris. Jasmine was more than relieved to leave work.
Jasmine was supposed to be helping to prepare for Trevor’s annual Thanksgiving event. It was something done every year and since it’s November and the event was around the corner, the preparations have already started to take place.
She was grateful Kingsley was able to tuck her out of work. Also, with everything that happened—Jack, the surgery, Kingsley’s ex-fiancée’s sudden arrival—Jasmine knew she needed to be away from LA. She needed a break from all that stuff.
The flight was smooth. Jasmine spent most of the time by the window, staring at the clouds. Kingsley sat beside her, holding her hand gently. He didn’t talk much. He just looked at her now and then and smiled like he couldn’t believe she was really there.
When they landed, the air felt different. Cold but soft. Paris in November was calm, not too crowded. The streets looked like a painting. Old buildings, warm lights, and people walking with coffee cups and scarves.
One of Kingsley’s drivers took them to a quiet hotel tucked away in a corner street. It was a six-star hotel, but it was warm and cozy. The lobby smelled like fresh croissants. Jasmine loved it. Everything about Paris brought warm satisfaction to her chest.
After they checked into their room, They didn’t rest long. Kingsley wanted to show her the city, majorly some of his favorite spots.
They walked through the streets, hand in hand. No rush. No schedule. Just slow steps and soft talks.
They got hot chocolate from a small café. The lady at the counter smiled when she saw them. Jasmine made a mental note about how the people there always wore sweet smiles.
The lady said something in French. Jasmine didn’t understand, but she smiled back.
