Chapter 37 Sleepover
Quickly, Kingsley used his palms to wipe off the strain of tears from the corner of his eyes and said in a husky voice. "You can give me the towel and leave."
Jasmine was speechless, one moment he was perplexed, the next moment he shed tears and now, he wanted to drive her away.
"Stop blocking people out. If you need help just say so." Jasmine argued, already beginning to feel irritated by his behavior.
Kingsley snapped instead. "I need no one’s help. I can manage on my own, hand the towel over." He stretched out his right hand and grabbed the towel from Jasmine’s hand. He eyed her a little warily before whispering."Please leave."
Jasmine sat there, staring down at him as he placed the towel on his forehead, looking out of the window, disinclined to look at her.
"Fine." She stood up from the bed and left, shutting the door after her in a loud bang.
Finally, alone, Kingsley’s eyes sank as his face fell, he blinked multiple times to keep his emotions at bay.
’I was weak.’ He thought in his head. He hated that Jasmine had to see that vulnerable side of him, he should have controlled his emotions well just like he’s been doing since the day he killed his parents when he was fifteen. He has been managing just fine but with Jasmine here....
"Fuck." Kingsley cussed under his breath before taking the towel off his forehead and throwing it on the table close to his bed.
Gritting his teeth, Kingsley shut his eyes, blocking out every image of Jasmine off his head. But the pain he felt in his head persisted.
Meanwhile, Jasmine sulked all the way back to her room. She slammed her door behind her as she walked towards her bed and jumped on it.
