Chapter 262 - Advice of the wise
Muchen dragged Shao out of the room and into the kitchen where it was quiet and empty. He let go of his wrist only when they were fully inside and the door swung shut behind them.
"Now tell me what the hell is going on with you. And don’t you dare deny it, Shao," Muchen said firmly, pointing a finger at him. "I see you. I see the look you had. That’s not the Shao I know."
Shao wiped his face with a loud sigh, turning away for a second. "Get out of the way. I need to get him," he muttered, stepping forward.
"Shao!" Muchen grabbed his arm and shoved him back, pinning him lightly to the wall. "You... if you go there now, you might hurt someone."
That made Shao stop.
He stood frozen against the wall, chest rising and falling a little too fast. His head slowly dropped down, his eyes staring at the floor.
"I think I’ve... finally lost it..." he mumbled. "I’ve gone crazy, Muchen..."
He slowly slumped down against the wall, dropping to the floor with a soft thud. He looked... small. Defeated.
"I... I told you earlier I can’t control myself," he said quietly. "I thought I could. But no. Now I’ve lost it completely. I want him."
His eyes lifted up to meet Muchen’s, wide and raw.
"I want him to be mine. I... I want to be the only one to see him. I want to keep him for myself. I want to lock him up and—" He choked for a second, looking down again as his hands tightened into fists. "Oh god... I’ve become just like that monster..."
