Jian Hao grumbled under his breath as he walked away from the warehouse. His chest was tight with unease.
Just a few hours ago, he had warmth, food, safety... but now he had none of that. Those monsters’ had kicked him out.
"Those monsters... They’ll all die terrible deaths," he muttered, his voice cracking as he clutched the straps of his bag tightly.
The city around him was no longer familiar. Roads were littered with abandoned cars, their doors hanging open.
Glass crunched beneath his shoes
Every distant growl or shuffle made him flinch.
He ducked low, weaving around vehicles, his breath fogging up as he fought the panic rising in his throat.
"I’ll kill them all... I swear I’ll kill them..."
Finally, he ducked behind a rusty truck, crouching in the shadow. With trembling fingers, he opened his bag. A few melted chocolates, a half-warm energy drink, and the bloody table leg.
He pulled the makeshift weapon out, holding it tightly. His voice turned bitter.
"Those monsters... they hoarded all the guns. And they give me this? A damn table leg?! Fuck!"
