Chapter 173 - Joining you
Jiang Hao’s grip on Hana was firm. His hands trembled ever so slight as he held the knife to her neck.
The tip of the jagged blade pressed even closer, threatening to pierce her pale skin.
Hana whimpered, her face contorted in pain and fear, but she didn’t struggle. She knew better than to provoke him further.
Yunfeng’s chest heaved. His fists were clenched so tight the bones in his hand ached.
"Fine," he rasped, his voice hoarse. "We’ll go... We’ll save your mother. Just—just let her go first. I give you my word."
Jiang Hao let out a bitter laugh. "Your word means nothing to me!" His eyes were wide, red-rimmed, like a cornered animal. "You’re all liars. You’ll say anything to keep your precious little group safe and then toss me aside!"
The blade pressed closer.
"Now go and rescue her for me," Jiang Hao growled. "Her name is Jiang Meiling. She’s at Jinshan Residential Block, Sector 7, East Baihu District, City A."
Yunfeng gritted his teeth. It was in the main city center—one of the dangerously infected area. Going there was almost suicide.
Still, he nodded. "Okay... okay. You stay here with Hana," he said, glancing toward Shao with urgency. "Watch him. Don’t let your guard down."
Shao didn’t say anything. He just gave a short, cold nod, never taking his eyes off Jiang Hao.
