Chapter 19 - Jan or June
"Here, eat this," his mum fed him a piece of apple. "What kind of bad luck did you pick up? It was just a few days ago that you left the hospital, and here you are again," she grumbled as she took the seeds off another apple slice.
"I don’t know. It’s a misfortune named Muchen," he grumbled.
An apple hovered right into his mouth forcefully. "Who asked you to jump in front of a bullet, huh? It’s not our problem to save others."
"He was the one who pulled me into the car. I was just minding my own business," he rolled his eyes at her.
"Don’t you dare roll your eyes at me," a heavy pinch was the punishment he got.
Sighing, Yunfeng gazed at her with a pout. "Your son is already wounded, and now you are doing so much damage to my precious body."
"Then make sure to keep your precious body safe!" his mum softly pinched his cheeks. "Do you know how worried I was when I got that call? I literally had to fight to get a cab here."
Yunfeng frowned. "I’m sorry."
"It’s not your fault. Just eat and regain your strength. We’ll be back home in no time."
Yunfeng gazed at his mum. She had black circles around her eyes from all the exhaustion. "You have to sleep well..."
This time it was she who rolled her eyes at him. "I’m sleeping well, kid." She handed him the plate of apples. "Eat, I’ll get some food from the canteen. Do you want something?"
