Chapter 8 - The posioned onion soup
Lin Yunfeng adjusted his black tie and gazed at his reflection. His short hair was combed back, revealing his pale forehead and delicate eyebrows. His eyes shimmered slightly as he gazed down at the white shirt and black pants he was wearing.
In his past life, he had worn a lot of suits, but none made him as happy as wearing this one.
He pinned the name tag on his chest with a prideful smile on his face.
"Wow, you look so creepy smiling to yourself like that," Jai said sneakily from behind.
"Not even your snarky remark can ruin my mood. 70 dollars an hour! Jai, thank you so much."
Jai nodded. "Work hard. I’ll prepare the notes for you," he came close and adjusted the black tie on his collar. "It’s a high-end restaurant..."
"I know I have to behave."
"No, there will be many cocky rich people coming in and out. If anyone bothers you, don’t be silent. You don’t have to take shit from these people."
"Are you even allowed to say that?" he raised a brow. He was a server. Technically, in the service industry, he had no option but to bite his teeth and tolerate rude customers. Jai was instructing him to do the opposite.
"Why not? It’s my dad’s place, which is technically mine by name. You, as my friend, have the privilege to behave as you wish." Jai patted his chest.
Yunfeng smirked widely. "You spoil me so much, man."
