The clashing auras continued for a few more seconds before the elder seated in the room finally lost his patience.
"Elder Yin, Elder Yang — could you both not destroy the room while deciding who gets to train the disciple?" he said with a forced smile.
At his words, the raging energies paused, and two ethereal silhouettes slowly materialized in mid-air.
One radiated a soft, blue light and took the graceful form of a woman — elegant and cold like the moon.
The other blazed with golden light, taking the shape of a confident man — his aura bold and proud like the midday sun.
"Old Yin, let me take this disciple under my wing. You already have enough—" the male silhouette began.
"Did you just call me old?!" the woman snapped mid-sentence, her voice sharp and dangerous.
The man’s face immediately fell. "No, wait, I didn’t mean—"
Too late.
Words once left the mouth cannot be taken back, and the moment was gone, so was the peace.
She attacked again without hesitation — light clashing with light — and the elder in the room quickly flared his qi again to shield the stunned disciples.
