After dodging Lingluo’s attacks a few more times — each one increasingly aimed at his dignity — a temporary ceasefire was finally called.
Both sides quieted down, though glares were exchanged like veteran warriors signing a peace treaty they didn’t believe in.
The rest of the group finished collecting their wolf corpses, storing them into their space rings with a sigh of relief. Then they gathered again, forming a loose circle to discuss their next move.
"Should we go deeper into the forest?" Mo Lin suggested, sword resting lazily on his shoulder.
"Shut up, son of Mo," Yu Zhen replied.
Yu Bo nodded in agreement, wiping the sweat from his brow. "I really don’t have the energy to fight other beasts now. My arms feel like noodles."

The group reacted instantly — everyone took a full step back as if he’d just admitted to having a deadly virus.
