Chapter 14: Training [2]
After breakfast, while Yu Changming took Yu Xuan away for his own grueling experience, Huan Lianhua gently took Yu Lingluo by the hand and led her toward her residence.
They walked down a tranquil path lined with white-blossom trees, the petals drifting lazily through the air like soft illusions. The air shimmered faintly, enchanted by layers of ambient spiritual energy.
Unlike Yu Changming’s realm of stone, steel, and stern silence, Huan Lianhua’s domain felt softer... warmer.
More deceptive.
Eventually, they arrived at an open-air pavilion — the place where Huan Lianhua often trained.
The circular space was surrounded by shimmering veils of light, glowing like heatwaves under the morning sun.
The marble beneath their feet was engraved with moon-phase patterns, each tile subtly glowing as they stepped across them.
Yu Lingluo had been here before — many times, watching her mother dance across the moon tiles with flowing grace while dozens of illusionary mirror-images moved in perfect synchrony.
Back then, she thought it was the most beautiful thing she’d ever seen.
Her mother turned to her, eyes glimmering like starlight over still water.
"Listen, Lingluo. Your training will be different from your brother’s. In fact... it may be more difficult."
